Thing I Love Love Love:
- Having been a part of electing the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama!!!
Now come on, California, No on Prop 8.
So, just finished Breaking Dawn. (Two weeks after it came out!!! I know, I know, what's wrong with me?! I've been busy, damn it!!) I shall probably write extensively about it soon, but for now... I have two weeks of neighborhood to catch up on.
I've got me some Breaking Dawn!!! (Side note: at 12:07 I walked into Books-a-Million, was the last person to receive a book, and they seemed to be shutting things down after me. What the hell! They are too efficient for their own good.) I'll not be visiting my friend The Internet until I finish it, which, thanks to my practicing schedule, will probably not be till Sunday evening. (I fear teh spoilerz.)
I'm an excited lady!
Remember this?
IT'S HAPPENING, PEOPLE.
Joie is going to see Wicked in Los Angeles on Thursday, May 22nd.
...Excitement cannot be put into type. Except by saying, "OMFGZ I'M SO EXCITEEEEEDDDDD!!!11!1ONEONE!!!111!"
i has one teh prezidunt's award four exelens in teh wryting!
But on a less lolcat note. My paper, Embracing Psychedelicism Before The Grateful Dead Made It Cool: Orchestration in Hector's Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique won one of the two awards for Writing in the Disciplines. I FEEL IMMENSELY SPECIAL. Winning this award means praise, esteem, a continuation of the winning streak, ego-boostage...
...and money!!! :-D eeeeee
I'm such an academic whore.
Just finished Season 3 of The Office.
F. T. W.
(And yes, it is, in fact, 7:30 in the morning. I napped from 8pm to 11pm... and then pretty much watched the entire second half of the third season. TV shows on DVD are about the best thing ever.)
I'm so excited for Thursday.
...Seriously: How do you spell out the letter "H"? I didn't feel that titling this post "OMGHP" would adequately describe my overwhelming excitement.
Oh, and did I mention that HP #7 was frakking amazing and I peed my pants twenty times?!
Okay, I didn't pee my pants. But I would say I had tears going at least four or five times throughout the book. I could not be more satisfied with it, and that's all I say in case anyone else hasn't finished it.
I have a week's worth of Internet business to catch up on (including Vox), but already the feeling is starting to creep over me: how will I spend my time, now that I'm not reading/thinking about/anticipating Harry Potter?!
AAAAH ORDER OF THE PHOENIX FTW.
It was stupendous. Of course, lots had to be left out, and some things altered completely. But I lurved it. I only wish it had been longer!
Additions to the cast were terrific; Tonks (although we didn't see enough of her), Luna, Professor Umbridge, and Bellatrix were perfect. I was especially excited about Bellatrix; I had heard Helena Bonham Carter wasn't the original choice for the role, but of course she was stupendous. Frankly, I've been madly in love with her since Fight Club.
Joie's Moment of Stupidity: Hello for me not realizing Professor Trelawney is played by Emma Thompson. I fail at life, but love Emma Thompson. And Alan Rickman, of course. I hate Snape in the books, but find it impossible to dislike Alan Rickman. I want to cuddle him.
Also, I want the Weasley twins. I want them bad, and that's all there is to it.
My nerd-o-meters are going crazy. I want to go see this movie again immediately. And it's so great to see midnight showings, when everyone else is just as enthusiastic as you are. I didn't dress up for the movie, but I make no promises about the book release. =)
Okay, must try to calm self down enough to get to bed sometime. (This will not be made easier by the fact that I slept till 1:00 and took an hour-long nap this evening. I'm not even sure how I did that, but whateva.) Back to reading, and we're currently on...
Perhaps this is news only to me, but uh... Harry Potter, the theme park?
I just whizzed my pants a little.
