I don't know if there is any game that I remember having a ton of joy about. I remember getting excited when I beat Mario 3. That was exciting. You should totally compose for video games. Check out my new posts. They're full of goodness and totally random videos. Some good some bad. Curious? (insert shameless plug)
Aww I like that scene too! I remember having to make save file right before certain favorite cutscenes, before YouTube existed. It was almost more fun back then since the scenes were more, I guess, "special" since you couldn't just sit down and watch them whenever so you couldn't see them without some effort.

After FFVII, VIII is probably my favorite FF. It has a certain mood about it that I haven't found in any other game. VII will always be my baby though!
Ooh, Mario 3 holds a special place in my heart. In fact every Mario game, at least from the original through Mario 64, I love dearly--even Super Mario 2, with all it's weirdness.

Looking forward to your posts later today! (Must go practice right now, unfortunately.)
Ah! I'm glad to know there are others like me. And yeah, YouTube totally changed all that... I still won't watch scenes unless I've already seen them. I feel you've gotta earn it!

I think perhaps FFVII might have meant more to me, except that VIII came out shortly after I started it and I quickly became engrossed in the latter. (Plus, I've only beaten VIII, so I can't help but feel a special sense of accomplishment with it, haha.) I really need to go back and explore VII again and I'd like to do the same with X--twice now I've gotten about 75% of the way through with X, and never finished. Blargh. This college shit really distracts me from my gaming!!!
[this is good]
omg!! I love Final Fantasy. We are totally FFXI junkies (nerds) Not as much since Baby M came into the picture. When Hubby and I got married, We came down the aisle to Final Fantasy XI "Ronfaure". We got so many compliments http://imatjen.vox.com/library/post/wedding-music.html
I had no idea!!! That is so cool to know! =) I really know next to nothing about FFXI and XII--I was always a bit intimidated by the MMORPGs and since I only have a PS2, XII was never an option.

I'm going to go listen to that music right now!
I'm more classic than ALL you guys!

FFIII was my game! sadly I never beat it because I never had access to it long enough
...I'm sad now cause I think my comment got cut off.

:( <--- see, sad.

Bah! I dunno why it cut your comment off. That's weird...

Do you have a Vox now? What is this business?!
I will say again what the rest of my comment was:

...I never had access long enough to that game to beat it. But I remember being so surprised at how moved and enthralled i was by a game that had, what we would now call, "cheesy" graphics. They crafted the technology then so well creating a visual and audible environment to do what they do best...tell a kick ass story.

Terra is MY FF girl! Always.
I agree with the statement above, after FFVII my favorite would have to be FFVIII. The music and videos were just amazing in it. I agree with you about the ballroom scene. I can remember being a teenager thinking, "I want to be that confident to just march up and dance with a gorgeous guy!" What a great scene. :)
Haha, I thought the same thing! Sigh, Squall was such a hottie. =) I'd dance with him any day.
oh, man. i never played VIII. i loved VII, though... :)
