HP OMG
AAAAH ORDER OF THE PHOENIX FTW.
It was stupendous. Of course, lots had to be left out, and some things altered completely. But I lurved it. I only wish it had been longer!
Additions to the cast were terrific; Tonks (although we didn't see enough of her), Luna, Professor Umbridge, and Bellatrix were perfect. I was especially excited about Bellatrix; I had heard Helena Bonham Carter wasn't the original choice for the role, but of course she was stupendous. Frankly, I've been madly in love with her since Fight Club.
Joie's Moment of Stupidity: Hello for me not realizing Professor Trelawney is played by Emma Thompson. I fail at life, but love Emma Thompson. And Alan Rickman, of course. I hate Snape in the books, but find it impossible to dislike Alan Rickman. I want to cuddle him.
Also, I want the Weasley twins. I want them bad, and that's all there is to it.
My nerd-o-meters are going crazy. I want to go see this movie again immediately. And it's so great to see midnight showings, when everyone else is just as enthusiastic as you are. I didn't dress up for the movie, but I make no promises about the book release. =)
Okay, must try to calm self down enough to get to bed sometime. (This will not be made easier by the fact that I slept till 1:00 and took an hour-long nap this evening. I'm not even sure how I did that, but whateva.) Back to reading, and we're currently on...

SO AWESOME. Wasn't Umbridge like straight from the pages of the book? She had that little giggle down PAT. I don't even care that I've had, like, four hours of sleep. I loved Tonks, too. And Bellatrix. And Luna. And...well, you get the idea.
And holy crap. When did Emma Watson get so ginormous? She was taller than Daniel Radcliffe and almost as tall as Rupert Grint...
OH!! Good to hear it -- I've heard very good reviews -- and interestingly, the one consistent comment was that it could have been a little longer, which is a very uncommon comment on a film these days. I've got to go see it soon!
I like Alan Rickman a lot -- in like everything I've seen him in -- even when he was an adulterous jerk in "Love, Actually" -- I need to be more like him --- in "presence" -- not adultery.
And Joie -- with your curly hair, you could totally pull of Hermione!
And I noticed that about Emma Watson, too! When she first hugged Harry, I was like, whoooaa... I'm gonna giggle if she actually gets taller than Ron in the next film. Those crazy growin' kids.
And lol @ Hermione. Last night my friends and I were talking about which HP character we are. I think even more than the curly hair (which when brushed, I might add, looks exactly the way Rowling describes Hermione's hair... it's sad, really) is the freakishness about grades and the reluctance to disobey professors, haha.
